Myron Russel Walter went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 18, 2021. He was born Dec. 17, 1932 to Soloman and Martha Walter in Odessa, Wash. Myron grew up with his two brothers Gerald and Wayne and sister Janet working on the family ranch, showing steers, and playing sports. He attended school in Odessa and after graduating in 1952, he enlisted in the Army. Myron was proud of his time in the service. ODESSA – Beginning with mimeographed pages that were hand-stapled, the Odessa Memorial Hospital Auxiliary published their first cookbook called “Over the Party Line.” Through the years, the Auxiliary continued to put together a total of nine different cookbooks containing recipes contributed by citizens of Odessa. ODESSA – The team of Kaedin Schorzman, Nathan Melcher and Holden Iverson placed fourth in the state FFA tractor-driving competition and Nathan Melcher placed sixth as an individual Wednesday November 17 in Moses Lake. Michael Gies, 79, passed away at his home in Seattle on Aug. 6, 2021. He was born on Feb. 22, 1942. Mike was a 1960 graduate of Odessa High School and graduated from Washington State University in 1964. After receiving his Master’s Degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin in 1966, he spent several years teaching math at Skagit Valley Community College.
