ODESSA— The school board met for a special meeting to make amendments to the Athletic Director Contract on Wednesday, January 11. Larry Weber asked the board for one period allotted for athletic director duties. Board member Chris Crossley moved to amend the athletic director contract to allow one period allotted to A.D. duties and Janie Steward seconded the motion. January is an excellent time to clear out your pantry, take inventory and restock. I always seem to have a few things intended for the holidays that didn’t get used. ODESSA- Diane Kennedy, 68, has worked in the restaurant business her whole life and is now bringing her culinary inclinations here through a business that was previously in Ritzville, "The Caddy Shack." DAVENPORT — A local lawmaker claimed this week that two environmental laws from the state Legislature and Gov. Jay Inslee that took effect Jan. 1 are already causing a fuel price increase. ODESSA—The school district here prefers to run its operational and capital improvement levies on an annual basis instead of on a two-or-three year basis. ODESSA—Lincoln Hospital District No. 1 voters will be asked to do what they’ve historically been willing to do in the special election coming up Tuesday, Feb. 14: pass a one-year operation and maintenance levy. The estimated levy rate is $2.36 per $1,000 of assessed property value for collection in 2024 and will bring in $671,800 “for paying part of the District’s operation and maintenance expenses,” according to proposition language.
