    DAVENPORT — A resolution in the first-degree murder case of Charles R. Bergman is “close,” defense attorney Dave Hearrean told presiding Judge Jeffrey S. Barkdull at a brief court appearance Tuesday, March 21. Bergman’s trial is currently scheduled for May 17, but discussion Tuesday indicated a resolution is likely before the case goes to trial.
