    DAVENPORT—The long-awaited and somewhat controversial Family Dollar store that’s been in the works here since Fall 2020 has finally broken ground. Construction crews began turning up ground at the former Lyons Park site Monday, Feb. 7. Property owner Brian Anderson said the Family Dollar, a retail chain store similar to the Dollar Tree, is expected to be open for business late this summer.     DAVENPORT – A Yakima truck driver accused of running a red Jeep off Highway 2 a few miles east of Davenport in May 2021 has a hearing to change his plea on a charge of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon.
