Cool weather may not be ideal for most kitchen garden plantings, but rhubarb loves it. Therefore we have a few more rhubarb based recipes to use up some of the bounty. Vineta Weber passed peacefully in her sleep on at the age of 101. She was born on Jan. 23, 1921 to George and Bertha Roth of Lind, Wash. Vinet, as she was best known, was a longtime resident of Odessa, Wash. Her mother, two sisters, Martha (Humphries) and Luella (Ducey) (Mari passed at birth) and brother, Emil, moved to Odessa shortly after their father, George, was killed in a car accident in 1934. DAVENPORT – Lincoln County Undersheriff Kelly Watkins is set to retire effective June 30. His upcoming retirement coincides with Sheriff Wade Magers' retirement. Donald N. Frick, 93, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 in Moses Lake, Wash. He was born April 16, 1929 in Moody, Wash. to Frederick and Bernardines Frick. Don attended school in Marlin and graduated from WSC (now WSU) with an Electrical Engineering Degree.
