Ray Garret passed away peacefully May 15 at the wonderful age of 102! Ray was born on a farm out of West Plains, Mo. He was the youngest of four brothers who have preceded him in death, Paul, Lee and Othel. He rode a horse to a one-room school, enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising Coon Hounds as a kid. To the Editor: Last week, 21 retirees from Olympia spent three days in Odessa. We hiked through the coulees, looked at birds, studied geology, learned about local history, golfed and enjoyed local refreshments. Lake Creek Coulee has some beautiful trails.
