The facilities crew at the Odessa School District were busy last week installing a new sign on the downtown reader board featuring the Tiger mascot and logo. The season opener for the OHS Tigers kept spectators on the edges of their seats. Just a week after winning the 1B football championship against Almira-Coulee-Hartline, many of the same boys fulfilled their practice hours and suited up to face the Warriors again. We are so proud of the 2018 Tiger streak and their 14 - 0 season. We haven't won a state championship since 1993 when we played against Clallam Bay in the Kingdome. The 2018 game was amazing, as usual, with the Tigers breaking records in the first quarter. On November 14, Odessa students in grade 3 through 8 competed in Harrington against eight other Bi-County schools in the 2018 Bi-County Academic Contest. By DYANNE DEERING The OHS Tigers dispatched the Neah Bay Red Devils in Saturday morning's game at Lions Field in Moses Lake, crushing the Red Devils by a score of 71 to 8 and giving the Tigers a 12 - 0 record on the season. As they have all season, the Tigers took control from the beginning of the game. The OHS Tigers dominated Neah Bay 59 - 0 by halftime. OHS Tigers triumphed over the Tekoa/Rosalia Timberwolves Friday, November 2, at Finney Field in Odessa. The final score of the night was 80 – 6, but the Tigers held the whip through the entire game, not letting the Timberwolves score until the fourth quarter.
