    Tuesday's meeting of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce was headed by a very tired trio of officers. President Zach Schafer and vice president Jeff Huiras were still helping to clean up the race campsite and haul tables and benches back to town on Monday and Tuesday. This is the second year the Healthcare Foundation has partnered with FBLA. On free days, visitors do not need a Discover Pass for day-use parking. The first free day is Saturday, April 20 —a springtime free day. The next free day is Monday, April 22, in honor of Earth Day.     By TERRIE SCHMIDT-CROSBY Organizers from the Stumpjumpers Motorcycle Club arrived in Odessa a couple of weeks ago. While they waited for the snow to disappear, they attended some Odessa events, including the Chamber of Commerce banquet. A week of warmer weather finally got rid of the snow and unfroze the ground enough so that marking of the courses for two weekends of motorcycle racing could begin.     History Pioneer days must have been terrifying when a fire was out of control. One of the earliest recorded fires in Harrington was that of a saloon building owned by F.B. Wright that was totally destroyed by fire on a wintry January night in 1893. The fire caught from a defective flue. The building was a wooden structure and burned rapidly. Two men were sleeping in the building, F.C. Lee and Harry Long, and they were nearly suffocated by the intense smoke. The only item salvaged from the burning building was the piano.   • Railroad Museum to open Friday

    The Inland Northwest Rail Museum opens its third season at its Reardan location on Friday, April 5. From opening day on, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until the season ends on December 15.     The EDC would like to introduce Cassindra Maravilla, loan officer for the Tri County Economic Development District (Stevens, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties) USDA revolving loan program.   • New schedule is set for filling of East Low Canal

    The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will begin filling the East Low Canal for the 2019 irrigation season later than originally planned due to weather on Saturday, March 24, 2019. The original startup date was March 20. Deliveries from the East Low Canal will begin on March 28. Deliveries to the East District’s Block 49, from the Potholes East Canal, have also been changed due to weather, and will begin to be available April 3.
