The latest vote count in the Aug. 3 primary election took place Aug. 9 and saw voter turnout climb to 27% of Lincoln County’s registered voters. Adam Walser, running unopposed for the unexpired term of Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney, received 2,045 votes or 97.01% of the total. There were 63 write-in votes cast (2.99%). Total votes cast were 2,108. ODESSA – A lack of communication and differing approaches among members of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce board of directors has led to an organization and a community in uproar, with Deutschesfest 2021 only two months away. ODESSA – The primary election held August 3, 2021, was of limited interest to Odessa area voters. Only two items appeared on ballots received by local citizens. ODESSA – Harvest in Odessa is progressing rapidly this year. The lack of rain and the higher than normal temperatures have reduced yields across the board by about 40 to 50% according to Mark Cronrath of the Odessa Trading Company. ODESSA – Officer Anthony Diaz is Odessa's newest law enforcement officer.
