    DAVENPORT — The cost of a marriage license in Lincoln County increased from $39 to $139 effective July 27 after the Washington State Legislature passed new legislation. House Bill 1498 adds a $100 surcharge on all marriage licenses issued in the state. The surcharge funds a co-responder program for domestic violence incidents. This amount is added to the county’s base fee. Lincoln County charged $39 for a marriage license before the surcharge. With the new law, that fee increased to $139.
